Sectoral Seminar on Sustainable Energy within EU External Action Instruments

November 21, 2017 | 8:30 AM — 5:30 PM |  Thon Hotel Brussels | Past event

Sectoral seminar for companies interested in EU external action and tenders in third countries funded by the EU budget will take place in Brussels on 21st  November.

Sectoral seminars are organized by the Permanent Representations of the Member States to the EU in cooperation with business representatives and trade promotion agencies. The forthcoming seminar, which will focus on sustainable energy, is organized by the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU in cooperation with the Czech Business Representation to the European Union in Brussels (CEBRE).

The sectoral seminar is divided into two parts. In the morning, the theoretical part will provide participants with information about procedural rules in public tenders, current and future European Commission initiatives, project co-financing opportunities through the development investment banks, and other available tools to secure sustainable energy projects in third countries. The afternoon part is  designed for networking between companies. The participation of more than 120 companies from across the European Union is expected. This is an ideal opportunity to meet with your counterparts with the possibility of creating consortium for future cooperation. During the event experts from the European Commission, development financing institutions and sustainable energy development initiatives will be available to answer your questions.

One of the important topics of the seminar will be the European Fund for Sustainable Development. It is a new fund through which it is allowed to submit your own projects with a request to provide financial guarantee or other financial instrument. Knowledge of the operation of this fund, along with your participation in the seminar, can significantly increase the chance of succeeding in the field of external cooperation.
